Protecting your identity

At Prosperity Credit Union, we know a lot of our members by name—and we want to keep it that way. In today’s digital world, protecting your personal information is more important than ever. 1. Guard Your Personal Information

Never share your passwords, PINs, or account numbers with anyone. Be cautious of phone calls, emails, or texts asking for personal details—even if they seem legitimate. At Prosperity Credit Union, we’ll never ask for your confidential information by phone or email.

2. Keep an Eye on Your Accounts

Check your bank statements regularly for any transactions you don’t recognize. With our online and mobile banking, it’s easy to keep tabs on your accounts from anywhere.  You can also set custom alerts on your mobile banking. If you spot something unusual, contact us right away.

3. Use Strong, Unique Passwords

A strong password is your first line of defense. Use a mix of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using birthdays or simple phrases. Consider using a password manager to keep track of your passwords securely.

4. Stay Safe Online

Be cautious when shopping online. Only enter your payment information on secure websites (look for "https" in the URL). Avoid using public Wi-Fi for banking or other sensitive activities.

5. Shred Sensitive Documents

Old bills, bank statements, and any papers with your personal information should be shredded before you toss them. It’s a simple step that can prevent dumpster divers from getting their hands on your data.

If you ever feel unsure or think your information may be compromised, we’re here to help. Call or visit any of our Prosperity Credit Union branches across rural Saskatchewan.  Together, we can keep your identity safe and your peace of mind intact. Because looking out for each other is what neighbors do.
